We're working with a New York based insurance client on an exciting AVP, AI Data Scientist requirement. Salary : DOE ($190k-$220K) Location : New York. Key Responsibilities Take the lead in designing, developing, and refining machine learning models to enhance predictive accuracy over time. Oversee cross-functional initiatives, partnering with stakeholders such as underwriters, actuaries, data scientists, software engineers, and data engineers to define and deliver AI-driven strategies. Apply AI tools and methodologies to collect, clean, and prepare data for analysis and modeling, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process. Examine large datasets and use data visualization to present insights clearly and drive informed decision-making. Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI by researching and applying cutting-edge techniques to real-world business challenges. Contribute to special projects and take on additional responsibilities as needed. Qualifications & Experience A bachelor's degree is required; a master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred. At least 8 years of experience, which may include advanced academic research, focused on machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining. Familiarity with the insurance sector is a plus. Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is desirable. Leadership or management experience is preferred. Proficient in Python or R, with a strong foundation in programming for data science applications. Core Skills Deep knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithm design. Ability to develop impactful visual representations of data to support business insights. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a data-driven mindset.
