We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Geotechnical Dam Safety Engineer to support our East Region Dams Team. This role involves managing dam safety projects across the region, with potential office locations including Atlanta, Buffalo, Charlotte, Conshohocken, Germantown, Franklin, or Tampa. Key responsibilities include: Managing multidisciplinary project teams, overseeing client relations, contracts, planning, and financial aspects of dam engineering projects. Providing senior technical support on seepage and slope stability analyses, filter and drain design, risk assessments, site inspections, and regulatory compliance. Reviewing deliverables such as calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications for quality and accuracy. Estimating project costs and schedules. Ensuring quality control and serving as Lead Verifier per AECOM policies. Mentoring junior staff to develop their technical skills. Supporting business development through proposal preparation and client engagement. Collaborating with technical leads across the firm. Traveling as needed for project sites. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with coursework in Geotechnical Engineering and 10+ years of related experience or equivalent. Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one state, with ability to reciprocity in others. Experience with dam projects, including design and rehabilitation. Leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio and gINT. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR review. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years in dams or geotechnical engineering. Master's degree in Civil Engineering. Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers or FERC projects. FERC Part 12 Independent Consultant approval. Completion of AECOM Project Management training and certification. Additional Information
