GBMC HealthCare . Under general supervision, assumes responsibility for the nursing management and evaluation of care provided to patients who participate in breastfeeding. Functions as a primary care provider in collaboration with physicians and other health team members. Plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs related to breastfeeding. Education:
Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required. Experience:
2 years full-time (or equivalent) clinical experience directly related to lactation. Skills:
Knowledge of lactation techniques and theory. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in computers and personal productivity applications. Ability to instruct and support patients. Ability to assess patients, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes. Licensures and Certifications: Current registration with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse. IBCLC certification required. Healthcare Provider CPR certification (biennial). Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) required upon hire for specialty areas. Physical Requirements: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time. Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and mobility; ability to communicate orally. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Working Conditions: Normal post-partum nursery environment. Routine exposure to body fluids. Pay Range:
$31.25 - $48.02 per hour. Final salary depends on qualifications, education, experience, and organizational needs. COVID-19 Vaccination:
