Software Development Engineer, Digital Acceleration Digital Catalog team owns services supporting publishing and purchase of Digital content, including Kindle EBooks, Amazon AppStore for Android, Amazon MP3, and Amazon Instant Video. You will be joining a team working on scalable web services using cloud technologies. Your work will be highly visible to Amazon customers and internal stakeholders. As a Software Development Engineer, you will provide technical leadership to other engineers in the team and contribute to the design and development of high-scale web services and workflows. You will influence the technical direction of other teams in the Digital Content Platform organization. This role involves solving complex problems and offers opportunities for innovation and product direction. Candidates should have a background in developing customer-facing experiences and backend web services, strong technical skills, motivation, creativity, and analytical reasoning skills. Key job responsibilities Analyze, design, and develop products for the DA Catalog team. Lead and mentor junior team members. Manage on-call activities, reduce operational expenses, and maintain a healthy pipeline. Deliver high-quality products with minimal defects. Test and deliver products, including automation if needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship). 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling. 3+ years of supporting Video Games Industry development, release, or live operations. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
