Description Summary St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking to fill the position of Director of Operations. This is a leadership position, responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the financial condition, physical plant and human resources of the parish campus. This position reports to the Pastor. Essential Duties Oversee general operations of the church and school. Manage parish office staff. Serve as onsite HR director. Manage and direct all accounting functions such as accounts payable, general ledger activity, and financial reporting. Manage and oversee the daily and project related maintenance and repair of all buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems throughout the campus. Oversee the human resources needs of the parish and school including payroll, benefits, recruiting, and onboarding. Prepare, administer and review budget process in collaboration with the Pastor and Ministry leaders. Manage the office administrative function and staff in a variety of roles. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills – highly collaborative and an effective team member. Exercise planning and organizational skills and meet deadlines through problem-solving and multi-tasking. Handle confidential information with integrity. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Requirements Undergraduate degree in accounting or business administration. Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting, business operations or related field. Intermediate to advanced skill level in Accounting and Database Software. Supervisory/management experience. Active Catholic in good standing is preferred, though familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is required.
