The Attorney supports the Pro Bono Senior Managing Attorney by referring immigration cases for pro bono representation, recruiting, training, and mentoring pro bono attorneys. The role includes providing legal advice and representation, supervising interns and volunteers, and managing case outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise, recruit, and train volunteer and pro bono attorneys; manage case referrals and outreach activities. Screen cases for immigration relief, refer cases, and follow up on legal representation needs. Manage referrals in Legal Server, update case summaries, and coordinate outreach with law firms and community partners. Maintain and update legal resources, track case victories, and draft newsletters. Interview clients, provide legal advice, and represent clients before USCIS, immigration court, and BIA. Supervise interns and volunteers, ensure timely reporting, and complete CLE and licensing requirements. Participate in fundraising efforts and perform other related duties. Education and Experience: J.D. degree and admission to practice law in any state or Washington, DC (Maryland Bar preferred). At least 1 year of immigration law experience, including asylum, U visa, VAWA, SIJS, and removal cases preferred. Skills and Competencies: Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
