Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Manage the company-wide Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) program to protect the confidential information of Scout Motors, including:

Further developing, implementing and maintaining the NDA process and associated software platform. Drafting and negotiating NDAs (while working closely with the Paralegal, Intellectual Property). Developing playbooks to document processes and common negotiating positions.

Work closely with the Associate General Counsel, Trademarks & Brand to provide legal support for Scout Motors’ communications, brand and marketing teams by:

Assisting with drafting and negotiating marketing, sponsorship and event-related agreements, including creative services, influencer/talent, sponsorship, endorsement, and media buying contracts, with a focus on IP ownership, brand protection, and regulatory compliance; and Reviewing external and internal communications for compliance with advertising, consumer protection and intellectual property regulations and internal guidelines.

Assist with drafting and negotiating intercompany and third-party IP-focused agreements, including in-bound and out-bound license and joint development agreements, as well as IP terms of commercial, strategic partnership, financing and other agreements. This position may be based in Tysons, Virginia; Columbia, South Carolina; or at the future Scout Motors Headquarters. Remote work arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates located in the Northeastern or Midwestern U.S.; however, this role is not eligible for remote work from New York City. The responsibilities of this role require 3-4 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. What you’ll bring

Here's what else you'll bring: A Juris Doctorate (JD) and license to practice in good standing with at least one state bar. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a practicing IP transactional attorney. Enthusiasm for practicing IP law in an extremely fast-paced, start-up environment. Superb oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-attorneys on a regular basis. Excellent drafting and writing skills, with the ability to prepare accurate and well-organized legal documents. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external parties. What you'll gain

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
