Cloud Engineer Tier 3
will support the DOE focusing on optimizing & securing cloud infrastructure through hands-on engineering, automation, & performance monitoring. Responsibilities of the
Tier 2 Network Engineer
include: Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, & cost-efficiency Monitor system performance & resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities & application deployment issues Develop & maintain cloud solution roadmaps aligned with business objectives & technical strategy Automate cloud operations to reduce manual tasks & improve system reliability Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards & support system accreditation Gather & analyze technical requirements from stakeholders & translate them into functional cloud architectures Create technical documentation & support deliverables, including design specifications & system integration plans Qualifications of the
Tier 2 Network Engineer
include: Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) & virtualization technologies Strong background in systems design, development, testing, and debugging - especially for cloud-integrated applications Experience with automation tools & scripting (Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell) to reduce manual tasks & improve efficiency Active DOE Q clearance or Top Secret clearance Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards & compliance frameworks, including counterintelligence evaluations & polygraph requirements Proven ability to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency Experience tracking & improving metrics like MTTR, MTBF, operational uptime, & cost savings Ability to gather & translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions & cloud architecture Knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards, security posture management, and accreditation processes Experience developing cloud solution roadmaps aligned with business strategy & operational goals Compensation for the
