Seller Merchandising, nested within our Seller Engineering org, exists to build the worlds most connected marketplace for enthusiasts. The team focuses on essential components that enhance Whatnots customer experience. They are committed to crafting a fun and engaging journey for buyers and sellers by providing the necessary tools for frictionless shopping on Whatnotfeatures like Checkout, Listing Page, Seller Shop, Buy It Now, and Flash Sales. Looking ahead, the team is poised to innovate and expand, ensuring an ever-evolving and dynamic marketplace for all users. In this frontend-leaning fullstack role, you will... Own full page web migrations to Next.js

Improve reliability on core marketplace surfaces

Build live experiences to make purchasing more entertaining on Whatnot

As our next Fullstack Engineer on Seller Merchandising, you should have 5+ years of generalist software development experience in high growth startups, plus: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience

Knowledge of multiple programming languages (we primarily use Python, Elixir, JavaScriptknowledge of these in particular not required)

Web development experience with React, using GraphQL for API development, and modern frontend applications (exposure to Next.js framework is not required but preferred)

Excellent product instinctsyou first think about users rather than the best technical solution

You can mentor others, and prioritize building inclusive, supportive teams

Project owneryouve strong ownership instincts and can own projects from inception to production and beyond

You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast

Youre an excellent problem solver and dont need to be told exactly what to do

Ability to pick up on new technologies very quickly
