Play Experience Designer

Who We’re Looking For We’re searching for a designer with a background in architecture, landscape architecture, exhibit/themed design, or spatial experience design—someone who knows how to translate creative ideas into buildable, physical environments. This isn’t a UX/UI role—this is about designing real spaces for real people, where sculptural storytelling meets technical know-how. What You’ll Do As a Play Experience Designer, you’ll shape one-of-a-kind playgrounds and sculptural features from concept to creation, collaborating closely with our design, engineering, and production teams. Your day-to-day might include: • Designing engaging, thematic play environments and sculptural features • Developing 3D models, renderings, and technical design packages • Translating narrative and story into built experiences • Collaborating across departments to bring ideas to life • Researching materials, fabrication techniques, and safety standards • Presenting designs internally and externally (clients, reps, etc.) • Bringing big energy, fresh ideas, and attention to detail ⸻ What We’re Looking For Degree in Architecture, Exhibit/Themed Design, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field 2+ years of experience designing physical spaces or sculptural products High proficiency in SketchUp Pro for modeling, rendering, and documentation Familiarity with Blender, ZBrush, Twinmotion, and Adobe Creative Suite A strong portfolio showing creativity, spatial thinking, and real-world build work Curiosity, collaboration skills, and a hands-on mindset Ability to work on-site in St. Louis Park, MN Bonus: experience in playgrounds, public art, or themed environments ⸻ Why Join Cre8Play? • Work on projects that are custom, playful, and never boring • Be part of a collaborative team that values design, creativity, and purpose • See your ideas come to life—and get played on by thousands of kids • Never have the same day twice ⸻ Our Core Values Hard Work – We go all in to make things awesome Cre8ive – We think big, stay weird, and surprise people Curiosity & Knowledge – We learn fast and push boundaries ️ Caring – We’re a close-knit crew who has each other’s backs
