Job Description Job Description Job Title: Mental Health Therapist / Counselor Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Setting: Long-Term Residential Facility Compensation: $67,000 – $72,000 annually Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our clinical team at a long-term residential treatment facility. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality therapeutic services to individuals struggling with mental health challenges and co-occurring disorders. This role plays a vital part in supporting residents’ recovery, personal growth, and long-term stability through evidence-based interventions and individualized care. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team and clients. Conduct comprehensive assessments, risk evaluations, and ongoing progress reviews. Document all client interactions, treatment notes, and case updates in compliance with agency and state regulations. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide clinical input regarding client care and discharge planning. Support crisis intervention efforts and maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and ethical standards. Maintain compliance with licensing, confidentiality, and clinical documentation requirements. Provide psychoeducation on mental health, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation. Qualifications Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field required. Active registration or licensure in Michigan (supervision available for Associates). Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders (residential or inpatient setting preferred). Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
