Moog has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department.We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer (EE) to be a product engineer in our custom hardware spacecraft avionics projects team. Job scope includes translating requirements into electronics products; electronic design and development; supporting component procurement, manufacturing, unit/environmental testing, and product verification.

The successful candidate will collaborate with electrical / mechanical / FPGA / software designers and other system engineers to produce design analyses and coordinate the manufacture and test of high-speed digital and power distribution circuit card assemblies and subsystems.

The HW Product Engineer directly supports project lead engineer and program manager to ensure product development activities follow Moog’s phase-gate development process and that all product requirements are met, verified and thoroughly documented.

Additionally, the HW Product Engineer will assist in interpreting and deriving lower-level requirements as necessary, to ensure delivery of a product that meets all customer needs. This position reports to the Lead System Engineering Manager whose team is responsible for design and delivery of all Moog Space Avionics products that do not fall within the Integrated Avionics Unit product line (i.e., all custom products).To be considered for the HW Product Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.* A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in electronic systems performing EE PCBA design (schematic/layout) and/or embedded microprocessor / FPGA / ASIC design.* Experience authoring, managing, deriving, and verifying requirements for complex electronics systems. Prefer direct user experience with a requirement management database such as: IBM Rational DOORS, JAMA Connect, Siemens Polarion, etc.* Prefer experience working in cross-functional project teams that perform product design and development including prototyping and manufacturing phases.* A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).* Self-starting instincts and a strong sense of project ownership.* Ability to work independently with a strong technical foundation while proactively identifying and resolving technical challenges.* Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently with internal and external customers to break down complex tasks and bring innovative solutions.* Deep understanding of computer architecture and digital interface technologies.* Having experience designing or specifying space-based, radiation-hardened electronic components is highly desired.* Ability to work onsite and be the primary POC during product testing campaigns.As HW Product Engineer, you will be responsible to:* Support the lead project engineer to design, develop, produce and test custom space electronics.* Manage product requirements from internal and external customer stakeholders through product development evolution including deriving design and test requirements necessary to ensure product performance, functionality, reliability and manufacturability. Collaborate with designers to validate conceptual solutions through the performance of trade studies and analyses. Allocate product requirements to functional disciplines and coordinate the verification activities across the project team to ensure all product requirements are verified and documented.* Author and review engineering analyses and reports. Ensure project data deliverables meet customer specifications and are delivered on time.* Author unit, subsystem and product test procedures.* Perform design verification testing and production hardware testing. Read and understand printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) schematics and PCB layout drawings. Use laboratory measurement equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot electronic failures down to the discrete component / integrated circuit level.* Resolve non-conformance issues encountered during manufacturing and testing activities including leading Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings and championing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts.* Apply corrective actions to product designs by formulating solutions, selecting alternative components and authoring engineering change orders.* Maintain complex structured bills of materials and update for component obsolescence.#LI-MC1**Salary Range Transparency:**Phoenix, AZ $80,000.00–$125,000.00 Annually**Salary Range Disclaimer**The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location.
