Software Development Engineer, Prime Video Sports
Love sports? Want to change the world? Prime Video is re‑inventing the live sports experience by merging high‑quality live streaming, immersive interactive features, and exclusive access to some of the world’s most loved sports properties—including the NFL, NBA, English Premier League, UEFA Champions League soccer, Roland‑Garros (French Open), and the US Open. Every day we face the challenges of a fast‑paced market and expanding technology set. We are building at a scale only Amazon is capable of. Our team is a single‑threaded owner, uniquely positioned to execute our vision across the entire Prime Video stack to deliver the most compelling new experiences to our customers.
Who we are We are deeply connected with the idea that live sports events are fundamentally different. There is only one shot at delivering the moment until it is forever lost. Our mission is to make sure that our customers never miss a single moment of the sports they love. To do this we deliver best‑in‑class live sports infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and operations at scale. We engineer for speed, quality, availability and scale. We adapt our architecture to maintain and improve our velocity of delivery for customers even as services grow, and our services stay error‑free 24/7 for high‑profile, exclusive content. With AI as a transformative force we unlock new opportunities in predictive analytics, automated defect analysis and mitigation, and automated operations.
What we're looking for We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer excited to build innovative technologies that define the future of live streaming. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to multi‑task, quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements, learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, provide creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems, and communicate clearly and concisely both written and orally. If you are excited about entrepreneurial thinking and creating technology solutions for complex problems, we want to hear from you.
What you will do here You will provide technical leadership and vision to the experiences and services teams. You will ensure that best engineering practices are followed and that our software is designed to be responsive, reliable and maintainable. You will work closely with other teams in Prime Video and Amazon to architect solutions that will scale to hundreds of millions of customers.
What you will get from us A great team to work with and the chance to build top‑tier services at a proven top‑tier company. You will experience a startup culture with the stability of an established industry leader. You will receive support and resources from some of the smartest people in the industry to continue learning.
