Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to build and own the production HR function for our growing studios business. This role will support producers, staff, cast, crew, and other talent partners working with Amazon MGM Studios productions. The ideal candidate will be a trusted HR partner ensuring a respectful, inclusive, safe, and positive work environment across our productions.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with production leadership (Directors, Line Producers, UPMs, HODs, Showrunners) to provide strategic HR support throughout the production lifecycle. Lead complex employee relations investigations, partnering with Legal, Labor Relations, PR, Studios DEIA, Security, and senior leadership. Provide thought partnership and coaching to production leadership and talent on HR matters. Design and implement proactive initiatives to improve production personnel experience. Ensure productions implement required training on topics related to respectful and harassment‑free work environments. Advise on employment law issues, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Analyze investigation data and trends, reporting findings to senior leadership. Partner with internal teams (Content, Production, Safety, Security, Employment Legal, Production Finance, Business Affairs) to provide comprehensive support. Work closely with Labor Relations on labor‑related matters. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders. Experience in resolving conflicts, providing crisis management triage, and setting appropriate expectations with customers. Excellent written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint). 7+ years of HR experience. 2+ years of entertainment, brand or production entity experience. 5+ years of employee relations, human resources or employment/labor law experience. Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of employee relations, labor relations, human relations or labor/employment law experience. 7+ years of employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law experience. Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little guidance and reacting with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround. Experience building cross‑functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without a direct reporting relationship. Experience working with high‑profile talent and productions. Strong judgment and decision‑making abilities in high‑pressure situations. Experience building HR programs from the ground up.
