Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating nursing staffing needs. Additional duties include providing administrative support to the Director of Nursing and other nurse leaders as directed.

*Pay Range: $23/hr. to $35/hr.

*Work Schedule: Monday, Friday and one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)

Responsibilities

Adjusts the daily staffing schedule, problem‑solving difficult situations with house supervisors, and Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing based on change in acuity, change in census, sick calls, 1:1's and Q 5's

Advises DON/ADON of potential staffing needs that may require hiring FT, PT, or PD staff.

Ensures time keeping system is updated and current for given pay period.

Receives vacation and holiday requests from nursing staff; advises DON/ADON if staffing coverage is adequate for approval of requests in a timely manner.

Provides clerical support for nursing administration as requested, including maintaining current employee phone numbers

Utilize scheduling tools and resources as directed.

Assists with new employee orientation. Creates a receptive environment for new employees, making them welcome and assisting both informally and formally with new employee orientation.

Making sure each new employee receives and completed a competency packet and is assigned a preceptor and schedules orientation of each unit.

Wears ID badge at all times. Follows ASD dress code policy.

Maintains proper attendance- stays within attendance policy guidelines. Regular/reliable attendance is required. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling.

Demonstrates safe work habits and knowledge of all related requirements and practices relative to job assignment. Completes incident reports according to policy for work‑related illness or injury. Follows all established infection control practices. Assists in maintaining a safe environment at ASD. Knows emergency plans and participates in all emergency preparedness activities.

Essential Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Qualifications

BLS (Basic Life Support ) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel

3 to 5 years of Hospital Scheduling Experience

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science preferred.

5 years of clerical experience in healthcare, staffing, and hospital scheduling.

UKG system knowledge HIGHLY PREFERRED
