Job Description & Summary At PwC, our people in business application consulting specialise in consulting services for a variety of business applications, helping clients optimise operational efficiency. These individuals analyse client needs, implement software solutions, and provide training and support for seamless integration and utilisation of business applications, enabling clients to achieve their strategic objectives.
As a business application consulting generalist at PwC, you will provide consulting services for a wide range of business applications. You will leverage a broad understanding of various software solutions to assist clients in optimising operational efficiency through analysis, implementation, training, and support.
Roles & Responsibilities The role sits within a commercially focused technical accounting team in PwC, designed to provide a fantastic development opportunity for the candidate to develop commercial focused accounting and reporting skills alongside the opportunity to work on a number of iconic accounting and reporting transformation projects.
Assist team managers to deliver on iconic and complex accounting advisory engagements with a variety of clients.
Interact and develop relationships with key client staff and engage in a professional and confident manner.
Demonstrate good task management skills, balancing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Apply strong technical accounting skills in a commercial context, providing practical and commercial accounting advice that addresses client objectives.
Show solid knowledge of IFRS; conduct in‑depth research on complex matters, prepare technical papers for senior discussion, and apply critical thinking.
Develop and build positive relationships with PwC team members and client staff.
Interact extensively with other PwC lines of services (tax, legal, deals, etc.), requiring a high‑level understanding of the wider PwC offering and trends outside your core area of expertise.
Skills and Competencies
In-depth understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
Experience in the Insurance/Financial Services industry, including complex accounting matters, market themes, and trends.
Strong interest and passion for enhancing technical accounting skills.
Fluency in both English and Arabic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel within Egypt, the Middle East, and elsewhere as project demands require.
Achievement‑oriented, flexible, and adaptive on a daily basis.
Independence and teamwork in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment producing high‑quality output.
Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload, resilience under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting or finance.
ACA, ACCA, CPA preferred.
3–5 years of audit or other relevant experience in a Big 4 firm or insurance company.
Accounting advisory experience is beneficial; experience in the GCC is advantageous.
