Job Summary : Administers the company’s enterprise risk management credit policy, mostly working autonomously, including but not limited to supporting all AEP business units with complex transactions, and is responsible for determining the financial ability of AEP’s counterparties to deliver contracted products and services and meet payment obligations, negotiation of credit provisions for master agreements, and lead guaranty negotiation, execution, and maintenance to ensure best possible guaranty coverage.
What You’ll Do
Mitigate credit risks to preserve revenues and avoid losses while facilitating business opportunities on a mostly autonomous basis and for complex transactions.
Credit Analysis
Perform initial and/or ongoing quantitative and qualitative analysis of customers, suppliers, or counterparties to establish monetary limits, tenor limits, and internal ratings in relation to the purchase or sale of services and commodities.
Portfolio Management
Monitor monetary limits, tenor limits, and ratings for counterparties.
Monitor industry news to assess any relevant impact on counterparties and identify potential portfolio actions.
Perform margining and related tasks in a proficient manner.
Maintain data integrity within the credit risk system, including counterparty, contracts, collateral, ratings, and other pertinent information.
Judiciously manage and provide administration of collateral held or posted for counterparties, RTOs, or exchanges, including guarantees, cash, letters of credit, and surety bonds.
Reporting
Prepare credit risk reports for risk committees, executive meetings, and financial or compliance purposes.
Contracts
Negotiate credit provisions for master agreements and supporting collateral documents, such as the collateral annex, guarantees, letters of credit, netting agreements.
Supervision
Supervise, train, and assist in the coaching and development of the margin desk personnel and others and provide input for mid-year and annual performance reviews.
Provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts with respect to decision-making, counterparty reviews, and financial reporting.
RTOs
Actively participate through credit working groups to influence credit policies, optimize benefits for the Company, and inform appropriate stakeholders of pertinent developments.
Other
Recommend and implement strategies to improve processes and systems to assess, measure, and monitor credit risk.
What We’re Looking For Education
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or associate’s degree with two years of relevant experience).
For Grade 7, minimum five years total work experience; for Grade 8, minimum seven years.
Experience
Minimum five years total work experience for Grade 7; seven years for Grade 8; relevant experience as noted.
Additional Expectations
High level proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and database management tools/software.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge and/or experience in commercial and commodity transactions.
Project leadership and multi-tasking skills.
Compensation Credit Risk Management Analyst Senior (Salary Grade 7): $93,000.00–$103,000.00 annually
Credit Risk Management Analyst Principal (Salary Grade 8): $113,000.00–$123,000.00 annually
Overall compensation range: $87,633.00–$128,688.00. Physical demand level: Sedentary work.
