Housekeeping Supervisor Job Summary The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in keeping all areas of the facility neat and clean and all workers engaged in sorting and washing all garments, linens, and other items.

Housekeeping Supervisor Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

Workwith Administrator to develop work/cleaning and laundry schedules. Ensure thatwork/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.

Coordinatedaily housekeeping/laundry services with other departments when performingroutine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.

Ensurethat all areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner;that all staff has the appropriate training, equipment and suppliessuccessfully execute this responsibility.

Ensureappropriate techniques are followed by staff when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning/laundry. In-service all staffprior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, bodyfluids, or hazardous chemicals.

Ensurethat established infection control and universal precautions practices aremaintained by staff when performing housekeeping/laundry functions.

Coordinateroutine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing services. Perform isolationcleaning procedures in accordance with established infection controlprocedures.

Makesdecisions that reflect both knowledge and good judgment.

Showsevidence of awareness of own limitations and seeks assistance when necessary.

Adheresto dress code and facility attendance policy.

Attendscommittee meetings, if assigned. Reports related to the committee are givenduring staff meetings.

Takesresponsibility for own professional growth. Attends and participates in allscheduled training, educational and orientation classes, programs and activities including annual mandatory classes.

Housekeeping Supervisor Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Previous experiences in a housekeeping Supervisor role

Skilled-Nursing Facility experience preferred

Strong Attention to detail and work ethic
