Position Overview
Join TechFlow, Inc., a subsidiary of EMI Services, as a Commercial HVAC Technician at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. Competitive wages, an allowance for insurance and 401k, and a five‑year contract.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems to achieve regulated climatic conditions.
Work on various HVAC units: split package, residential style, light commercial, mini‑splits, VAVs and AHUs.
Use a multi‑meter to check voltage lamp and a torch for brazing.
Prepare work orders and cost material estimates.
Assist in training lower‑level workers in mechanical repair techniques.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of commercial HVAC systems.
Journeyman HVAC license.
EPA Universal Refrigeration License.
HVAC training or equivalent.
Knowledge of refrigeration cycle and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Ability to read schematic diagrams.
Self‑starter; works independently.
Strong workplace safety mindset; proper use of PPE.
Regular, dependable attendance required.
Valid driver’s license; Real ID compliance desired.
Pass pre‑employment drug screening.
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
OVERTIME available: evenings & weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform tasks listed under Physical Requirements.
Physical Requirements
Must lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Use of hands, reaching, talking, and walking.
Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping.
Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.
Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions.
