Location: Fairfield Inn Niles, 1860 Niles-Cortland Road SE, Warren, OH 44484
Overview The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. They also communicate concerns and related issues to all levels of management while performing guest‑service agent duties as required, including check‑in, check‑out, switchboard operation, and reservations.
Responsibilities
Work with and understand financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.
Cross‑train in other accounting or hotel‑related areas.
Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines.
Perform guest‑services functions as required (e.g., check guests in/out, take reservations, handle phone calls).
Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, and end‑of‑month reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports).
Audit front‑desk and food & beverage cashier work, including credit‑card processing.
Enter and update financial information into corporate communications network.
Process daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data system functions as required.
Keep management abreast of operational or financial events and policy deviations.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Respond to governmental inquiries.
Handle guest requests.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and/or at least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
Guest service experience preferred.
Computer knowledge/skills required.
Flexible with long or irregular hours.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests.
Strong listening, understanding, and clarifying skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance per Highgate scheduling needs.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
Comply with Highgate standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
Maximize productivity, identify problems, and assist in implementing solutions.
Handle problems proactively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them.
Apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
Cross‑train in other hotel‑related areas.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
