Job Summary Laborers will perform tasks involving physical labor on heavy highway, road, and bridge construction projects. Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Control set-up and may assist other craft workers and perform other labor-related duties as instructed by supervisor.

Essential Functions

Perform tasks involving physical labor on the project

Perform work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)

Assist concrete and demolition crews where needed

Load and unload material

Flagging traffic passing near, in, or around work zones

Control set-up

Operate hand and power tools

Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

Adhere to all safety guidelines set forth in the company’s safety program

Perform other labor-related duties as instructed by the supervisor

Owns basic tools (measuring tape, hammer, carpenter pencil, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience

At least 1-year heavy highway, road, concrete, form setting, or bridge construction laborer experience

Able to work over water and on boat/barge

Available to work weekends when necessary

Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling items up to 50 pounds

Able to work at elevated heights

General labor skills

Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools of all types

Knowledge of operating a variety of other equipment and instruments is a plus
