Overview
Systems Application & Technologies Inc (SA-TECH) is a progressive Department of Defense contractor specializing in range operations and maintenance, weapons testing, and cybersecurity.
Position Title:
Electronics Assembly Technician (part-time, 9 hours a week)
Location:
Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA
Pay:
$44.72/hr
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble wiring harnesses, printed circuit boards, and coaxial cables per engineering specifications.
Operate electronic assembly equipment: soldering stations, rework stations, microscopes, heat guns, crimping tools.
Assemble complex harness configurations involving thru‑hole, surface mount technology (SMT), and interconnection schemes.
Perform manual assembly of PCBs using SMT processes and wave soldering techniques.
Interpret and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to fabricate and verify harness assemblies.
Perform functional checks and inspections of completed assemblies, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Work Conditions
Fast‑paced office environment; phone, fax, desktop computer.
Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted.
80% sitting, 5% reaching, 5% lifting, 5% walking, 5% standing.
No remote work; office hours 6 am – 3:30 pm.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, preferably aircraft and instrumentation.
Demonstrated thru‑hole, SMT and interconnection skills.
Manual and wave soldering techniques.
IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 certification preferred.
Strong avionics/electronics background.
Knowledge of testing systems per NAVAIR manuals.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical data, engineering data.
Computer/Networking, MS Office.
Current driver’s license; able to be insured through company vehicle insurance.
U.S. citizenship required; obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance before start and throughout employment.
Pass background screening: SSN, driver record, criminal background.
