StTeresas Hospice, Darlington is seeking Health Care Assistants to join ourHospice at Home team. Ifyou are passionate about palliative care and want to be part of an effectiveteam that makes a real difference within the community, then this could be theperfect opportunity for you. Wehave multiple vacancies for applicants looking to work between 2 and 4 x 7.5hour shifts per week on a 7 day rota; usual working pattern 7.5 hour early orlate shifts on a rota basis, 06:45-14:15, and 14:00-21:30. StTeresas Hospice Band 3, Full time equivalent £24,049.00 - £24,975.00 per annumplus enhanced rates for unsociable hours. Disclosure expense will be met by St Teresas Hospice. Allposts are subject to a six-month probationary period. We are a forwardthinking, inclusive registered Charity with Inpatient, Outpatient and Communityservices, providing care and support to palliative patients and their familiesin their own homes and at St Teresa's Hospice. In this post, you willwork as a member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team delivering care andgiving support to patients with palliative care needs and their families,within patients own homes and in the Hospice. Our HCAs work in closecollaboration with the District Nurses, GPs, Marie Curie nurses, Macmillannurses, the Foundation Trust & other hospice services ensuring patientchoice at the end of life. Essentialqualifications and skills include: NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification in Health & SocialCare or equivalent qualification or experience or prepared to take relevant NVQif not achieved. Qualifications

NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification or experience Experience

Experience of working in a Healthcare setting, providing personal and/or clinical care Experience of delivering Palliative Care Experience of working in the community setting Personal qualities and Motivation

Demonstrates enthusiasm for the role Willingness to undertake work during the day or evening, during the week and at weekends, and to work across all hospices services as required Able to drive for work with full UK driving licence, and accepted by our insurers to drive Hospice vehicles under our driving insurance policy at a cost which is reasonable to the Hospice; NB this is subject to individual underwriting for employees under 21 years of age Able to travel for work using own transport (in the event that the company vehicle is unavailable), including carrying a passenger and equipment (business use insurance to be arranged by worker at their expense) Disclosure and Barring Service Check
