Job Objectives Maximize sales and brand awareness by delivering exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Provide impartial, personalized expertise and advice regardless of brand or budget. Demonstrate a passion for beauty and wellness and deliver inspirational knowledge. Offer solutions to customers’ beauty and wellness needs, including mini‑make‑overs and skincare consultations, with an emphasis on the customers’ total look. Model and deliver a distinctive, delightful customer experience. Oversee and maintain overall beauty department standards.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks Customer Experience
Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
Model and share customer care best practices by proactively offering assistance, asking questions to determine needs, and informing customers of options.
Listen and engage customers to identify their needs, making them aware of appropriate products and services, and providing warm transfers to other areas of the store when necessary.
Provide expertise in product demonstrations and consultations utilizing tools such as the Skin Hydrometer and tablet.
Lead and deliver in‑store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty of owned brands and total beauty, wellness, and personal care.
Build relationships with customers and provide authentic closure of customer interactions.
Engage with omni‑channel solutions to enhance customer engagement and experience.
Locate products in other stores or online if unavailable in the store.
Operations
Achieve or exceed predetermined sales goals by assisting customers in purchasing products and by modeling exceptional customer care.
Review beauty business regularly to understand performance within the store and district in partnership with store leadership.
Consistently focus on link‑selling and up‑selling with customers by showing sale items and complimentary offerings.
Use testers and sampling to demonstrate product application and leverage items from beauty promotional programs.
Ensure testers are stocked and maintained in compliance with hygiene standards; maintain a clean and organized department.
Implement company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
Process sales for customers and/or employee purchases on the cash register.
Participate in meetings and conference calls concerning programs and promotions, new items, brand launches, sales goals, and modeling exceptional customer care.
Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete special assignments as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Seek self‑development by monitoring performance, setting high personal standards, staying aware of beauty and wellness trends, learning from others, and improving job performance.
Maintain knowledge of competition, new product/brand launches, and overall industry trends.
Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, and other knowledge‑sharing opportunities; educate the store team on new beauty updates, information, and learnings from training.
Attend training and complete e‑learning modules requested by the manager or assigned by corporate.
Maintain a professional appearance and image in compliance with company guidelines at all times.
Model and share behavior with other Beauty and Wellness Consultants; provide training and assistance to new consultants.
Work collaboratively with store leadership to review goals and maintain product knowledge.

External Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of experience in a retail sales environment that required meeting a defined sales goal OR at least one year of experience proactively selling beauty or cosmetic products and providing customer care.
Experience in developing ways to accomplish goals with little or no supervision; determine when escalation of issues is necessary.
Knowledge of products and brands to engage and meet the needs of customers.
Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
Basic PC/tablet skills.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
Preferred Qualifications
Licensure in Cosmetology or as an Esthetician granted by an appropriate state licensing authority.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community, and with vendors.
Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers.
Experience selling prestige brands.
Degree from a beauty school.
Experience with another retailer in the form of an externship.
