Work Arrangement: Thursday-Monday 8:00 am-5:00pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Evening shift work in a

fast-paced, computer-intensive office environment.

Extended time using computers, phones, and communication platforms.

May require occasional extended hours during peak periods, holidays, or disruptions

You’ll be the go‑to expert for customers and carriers, ensuring smooth, reliable transportation and delivering service excellence when it matters most.

What You'll Do: This role is responsible for managing and coordinating all transportation activities during Weekend hours, with a primary focus on weekend service issues, real‑time tracking and tracing, and ensuring customer and carrier needs are met overnight. The Weekend Shift Transportation Coordinator acts as the frontline problem-solver for operational disruptions, ensuring continued service excellence after core business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the

primary point of contact

during Weekend hours for customers, carriers, and internal teams.

Proactively

monitor in-transit shipments , perform

tracking and tracing , and elevate issues as needed.

Resolve service disruptions , late pickups/deliveries, and equipment issues with urgency and professionalism.

Maintain clear, real-time communication with

shippers, consignees, drivers, dispatchers, agents, and 3PLs .

Log and document all after-hours issues for handoff to the day team and for performance analysis.

Ensure all necessary

notifications, updates, and exception reporting

are communicated to stakeholders.

Collaborate with Account Managers and Carrier Sales teams to

ensure service level agreements (SLAs)

are met or recovered.

Maintain internal systems (TMS) to reflect accurate real-time information for shipments and communication records.

Provide coverage during

holidays, weekends, or weather-related disruptions

when required.

As necessary source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move freight, ensuring timely delivery at the right price

Qualifications Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience: 1–3+ years’ experience in

transportation, truck brokerage, dispatch, tracking & tracing, or logistics customer service .

Prior experience in

after-hours or time-critical operations

strongly preferred.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Strong verbal and written

communication and problem-solving skills .

High sense of

and the ability to

work independently

with minimal supervision.

Ability to

multi-task , prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.

Detail-oriented with strong

documentation and issue-tracking discipline .

Familiarity with

chassis management, liner schedules, drayage coordination , and intermodal processes is a plus.

Customer-first mindset with a focus on service recovery and retention.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Experience with

transportation management systems (TMS) , GPS tracking platforms, and CRM tools.

Familiarity with

industry systems

(McLeod, P44, LoadIQ, Blue Yonder) is a plus.
