Job Summary Acuren is recruiting for an MFL Level II Tank Technician at our La Porte, TX location. Category: NDT/NDE. Position type: Regular Full-Time. Work schedule status: Remote. Job ID: 2026-17183.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MFL tank floor inspections on aboveground storage tanks in accordance with API 653 and applicable standards.

Set up, calibrate, and operate MFL inspection equipment.

Verify equipment performance and ensure proper data collection.

Identify, classify, and size metal loss, corrosion, and other anomalies.

Accurately document inspection results and assist with technical reporting.

Follow approved inspection procedures, job safety analyses (JSAs), and site safety requirements.

Participate in tank cleaning, confined space entry, and turnaround activities as required.

Communicate inspection findings to inspectors, engineers, and project leads.

Maintain inspection equipment and ensure readiness for field deployment.

Travel to client sites as required and work extended hours during outages or turnarounds.

Required Qualifications

MFL Level II certification (ASNT TC-1A or equivalent).

Demonstrated experience performing MFL inspections on aboveground storage tanks.

Knowledge of API 653 tank inspection practices.

Ability to interpret MFL data and identify corrosion and metal loss.

Strong understanding of safety requirements related to confined space entry and tank work.

Ability to work in industrial environments and physically demanding conditions.

Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, drug, and fitness‑for‑duty requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with tank floor scanning systems (e.g., Silverwing, AUT/MFL platforms).

Additional NDT certifications (UT, MT, PT).

Familiarity with inspection reporting software and data management systems.

Previous experience working during tank outages or turnarounds.

API 653 certification (or ability to obtain).
