The Recreation Assistant III - Facility Supervisor serves an essential role in creating vibrant community experiences by overseeing a wide array of recreational programs & sports activities. This dynamic position is critical in facilitating safe, engaging environments for community members, fostering community interaction & wellness through well-organized events. This position promises excitement & professional growth while enhancing Salina's recreational landscape.
This classification is the highest part-time level in the recreation series working under general supervision.
Duties
Performs a variety of activities related to the organization, direction, instruction, maintenance, & supervision of recreational/sport programs.
Oversees facility rentals (indoor & outdoor).
Maintains a safe, clean, & game ready environment.
Delivers outstanding customer service & enforces facility policies.
Supervises facilities & maintains efficient time management skills.
Ensures compliance with all safety standards & operational procedures to provide a secure environment for staff & participants.
Supervises program staff & facility operations, offering direction, support, & regular performance feedback.
Maintains accurate documentation & assists in compiling reports related to program operations & outcomes.
Actively engages with community members & participants to promote recreational programs & gathers input for continuous improvement.
Administers basic first aid, if needed.
Responds to emergency situations within scope of training.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or G.E.D.
College graduate preferred.
Experience
Previous facility, recreational/sport programming and/or tournament experience desired (both indoors & outdoors).
Experience in managing or supervising recreational or sports programming, with an emphasis on both indoor & outdoor settings preferred.
Prior experience in managing facilities, organizing sports tournaments, & working in a municipal or community-focused setting such as coaching, education & sports preferred.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members & interact with the public.
Requirements
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
This is a driving position; must possess valid driver’s license.
Must pass background checks.
Hours
Part-time evenings & weekends.
Pay DOQ EOE
$13.37-15.37/hr.
