Job Description
AECOM is seeking to hire a Mid-level Transit Planner to support our exciting project in Austin, TX.
Job Responsibilities
Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.
Usually performs as a consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.
Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
Supports specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.
Supports the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.
Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors from an accredited university in Planning, Engineering, Geography, or related field.
Strong technical writing skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems such as ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online
Proficiency or familiarity with transit service planning or scheduling software
Experience in transit network and route design
Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
Coursework and/or project experience in geography, urban planning, transportation planning, GIS and data analysis
Experience in preparing graphics and visuals
Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skills
Familiarity with local clients
