Job Summary
The Principal Machine Learning Engineer partners with business stakeholders and the DIO community to ensure seamless access to high-quality data for advanced AI solutions. This role is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and building ML tools leveraging Generative AI and Predictive AI to deliver transformative insights and automation. The Principal MLE combines deep expertise in machine learning, data architecture, and software engineering with strong business acumen to create scalable, high‑impact solutions. The role also emphasizes extracting actionable insights from design documents and promoting shared infrastructure to reduce costs and improve information flows. Responsibilities
AI & ML Solution Development
Design and implement ML tools using GenAI and Predictive AI for enterprise‑scale applications Build advanced models for forecasting, optimization, and intelligent automation across business domains Drive innovation in extracting insights from design documents to accelerate solution development Business Analysis
Partner with stakeholders to translate executive‑level requirements into actionable ML strategies Lead discovery sessions and guide teams in identifying high‑value AI use cases Solution Architecture
Architect strategic, cross‑functional ML solutions aligned with organizational goals and technology roadmaps Ensure adherence to best practices in model design, integration, and performance optimization Data Management & Modeling
Develop robust data pipelines and architectures to support large‑scale ML workloads Drive data discovery initiatives, formulate hypotheses, and deliver predictive insights from complex data sets Software Engineering
Provide technical leadership on ML frameworks, coding standards, and scalable deployment Expertise in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and integration with Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) Visualization & Insights
Deliver compelling dashboards and visualizations to communicate ML‑driven insights Translate model outputs into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders Testing & Quality Assurance
Establish repeatable test strategies for ML models ensuring reliability and performance Certify product releases for accuracy and customer experience Vendor & Technology Evaluation
Lead evaluations of emerging AI technologies and vendors to influence enterprise AI roadmap Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships for ML platforms and tools Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Data Science Proven track record in building GenAI and Predictive AI solutions Strong knowledge of extracting insights from design documents and applying them to ML workflows Expertise in data modeling, predictive analytics, and visualization Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or Machine Learning Targeted Pay Range
United States - Redwood City Office GHQ: 186,000 - 280,000 USD / Annual The targeted pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full‑time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
