What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): Oversee facility design and construction services for county departments, providing recommendations on facility projects Develop project master plans and implement through reviews, cost estimates, and construction Ensure compliance with plans and specifications during construction and supervise inspections Establish project priorities and schedules for timely completion of construction projects Analyze and respond to inquiries, comments, and complaints from county officials and the public
What is Required (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering Minimum of three (3) years of directly related professional architectural or engineering planning, design, or construction experience Licensed to practice as a Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas One (1) year of lead, management, or project management experience Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to pass a criminal background check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): Experience in building design and construction/remodeling project management Familiarity with project management principles including scheduling, estimating, and budgeting Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to construction Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to explain technical problems in simple language
