Operations Instructor-Lead

As the nation’s largest producer of clean, carbon‑free energy, Constellation focuses on accelerating the transition to a carbon‑free future. This position leads the Clean Energy Center (CEC) operations training group and serves as the CEC subject‑matter expert.
Primary Purpose Of Position Functionally directs the CEC operations training groups and demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject‑matter knowledge in carrying out assignments related to the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of discipline‑related training programs. Acts as the CEC subject‑matter expert for the functional area.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities
Drive CEC and personnel performance improvement using training. Develop, schedule, coordinate, and conduct performance‑based training programs as required by the user community, following Constellation’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) model and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
Conduct counseling sessions for trainees, evaluate results, and recommend/develop individualized training programs.
Assure training programs remain current, incorporating information from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), NRC Bulletins, CEC design changes, procedure revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits, and prepare responses to audit findings.
Support CEC and fleet in business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects. Maintain knowledge of CEC operations, disciplinary skills, and techniques.
Coordinate instructor efforts in training development and conduct, and provide expertise in the implementation of the SAT process by directing and counseling instructors and other staff as assigned by the manager.
Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities outside the department.
Minimum Qualifications
Current or previous SRO license or SRO certification with six years of related experience (e.g., test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military power plant operator).
Two years of training or education experience.
Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 (4.4.3) Standard for selection, qualification, and training of personnel for nuclear power plants.
Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination/testing in accordance with position duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Previously Operations Instructor and Simulator Instructor qualified.
Experience in training self‑assessments and INPO Continuum process.
