Position: Cargo Accounts Executive – LAX
BASIC FUNCTION:
Solicit and develop cargo revenue from freight forwards, shippers and charter brokers in Western U.S. territory and achieve revenue and tonnage targets. Actively service accounts and provide sales support to build rapport with customers for business development and incremental revenue.
MAJOR DUTIES
Develop incremental revenue by direct solicitation of freight forwarders/agents, interline partners, charter brokers and by tripartite visits to shippers. Build long-term relationships with all entities and engage in consultative selling when possible. Provide timely response to quotation enquiries and cargo booking requests with excellent professionalism and customer service. Proactively push for bookings to fill up space on the flights. Negotiate rate and space agreements with freight forwarders. Support freight forwarders in the coordination and movement of their cargo. Report latest trends on market and cargo rates in a timely manner. Represent SIA Cargo at trade shows, official functions and meetings to promote and increase brand awareness of SIA Cargo. Attend regional and sales meetings as required. Maintain regular direct contact with regular and potential customers. Complete all shipments rate audit accurately by dateline cutoff. Complete station sales report promptly. Coordinate with Finance team to recover all outstanding debts from freight forwarders. Monitor and alert management immediately for any signs of freight forwarders who may be in financial distress. Provide coverage when counterparts are out of office. Cargo VP Americas or Cargo Manager Western USA may assign any other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of working experience with airline cargo sales. Knowledge of airfreight industry, market trends and pricing. Excellent communication skills, detail oriented and team player. Resourceful in problem solving. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Valid Real Driver’s License and current passport. Seniority level
