Remote Sr. Tooling Designer
3+ month contract
Pay Rate: $45+ per hour
Key Responsibilities
Design, document, prototype, and transfer tooling hardware to manufacturing.
Analyze specifications, blueprints, and shop data to resolve design challenges.
Develop tool configurations using algebraic and geometric formulas.
Create detailed layout and drawings using CAD tools (Auto Desk Inventor/AutoCAD).
Modify tool designs based on trial or production feedback for improved performance.
Manage data entry, document revisions, and information control.
Lead and direct junior tool designers on tasks and priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
10+ years of hands‑on experience in tool design.
Skilled in Auto Desk Inventor/AutoCAD and GD&T (standards Y14.5, Y14.43, Y14.41).
Expertise in tooling hardware/software design and practical problem‑solving.
Strong communication skills (oral, written, diagrammatic) for translating complex ideas.
Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Adaptability to fast‑paced and dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field or certification.
