Responsibilities
Designs server and application architectures; performs administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and software
Maintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs
Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems.
Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
Experience: 5+ years of Systems Engineering functions/roles
Security clearance level: TS/SCI security clearance
US citizenship required
Role requirements:
Has experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, and McAfee
Experience with ICAM, PAM, Zero-trust solutions is a plus
Exchange, SharePoint, SQL expertise a plus
Specific knowledge of RHEL, Splunk, OpenShift is a plus

Must be able to write and evaluate scripts that contribute to overall systems efficiency
Excellent communication skills: Effective listening skills and follow through
Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
Can create effective and clear user manuals
Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications
Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
Salary and Benefit Information The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
