Diesel Maintenance Technician (B)
Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel‑powered equipment; perform job duties independently with limited supervision; provide mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C's as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform some electrical, mechanical diagnostic, and repair of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel‑powered equipment
Perform various forms of equipment repair including drive chain components, automatic brake systems, etc. through an intermediate level of experience and system knowledge
Maintain accurate parts inventory, research, resolve all discovered inventory discrepancies and notify maintenance management when a resolution is not available
Maintain a clean and safe work area and warehouse
Perform other tasks as determined and requested by management
Work in the Maintenance software system to record data, ensure DOT compliance, and ensure follow‑up of return orders
Serve as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians C, as needed; may perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills
Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills
Understanding of tire inflation systems
Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires
Basic diagnostic tool skills
Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards
Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions for tools, equipment, machinery and/or materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipment
Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors under working conditions
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to vary the start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidays
Basic computer skills
Each technician needs to provide their own tools
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge acquired through 3–5 years of relevant work experience
D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification
Ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate

Pay rate starting at $28.00–$30.00/hr, depending on skillset and experience
