Early‑career Water Resource Planning position focused on stormwater planning and design, asset management, water quality, and integrated planning.
Key Responsibilities
Support hydrologic and hydraulic planning, modeling, and design of stormwater and wet weather improvements, including open channels, storm sewer systems, stormwater detention/retention facilities, dams, levees, and reservoirs.
Support water supply planning that provides long‑term resilient supplies and mitigates climate change, regulatory uncertainty, aging infrastructure, and population growth/demand changes.
Support planning and design of green infrastructure, low‑impact development, and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs.
Support erosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP development.
Interface with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of our clients.
Preferred Qualifications
2‑5 years of water resources planning, stormwater design, dam safety, and/or condition assessment experience.
Experience developing and executing water resource planning and design projects is preferred.
Proficiency with virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams, WebEx, Zoom).
Proficiency with software applications and models: Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcGIS or QGIS, AutoCAD, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, EPA/XP‑SWMM, InfoWorks, StormWise (formerly ICPR).
Capable of conducting site reconnaissance and remote investigations.
Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures (FEMA, USACE, and EPA) preferred.
Support client‑facing and business development efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
Certifications
Engineer‑in‑Training certificate (or ability to acquire the same).
CFM (preferred).
Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. Majority of work is office‑based. Site visits may require navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
