Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between
$27.00 – $35.00 per hour . Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Job Purpose The Field Service Technician II is a vital member of our field service team, responsible for assisting in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers and other related equipment. Maintaining safety is the top priority. This role will be able to work with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety training programs and meetings.
Perform entry level tasks as assigned with little or no direct assistance while still working under Sr. Technicians (LOTO / Arc Flash / Grounding).
Assist with testing as needed.
Operate Dry Air Machine.
Measure and cut gaskets as needed.
Ability to assist with transformer internals.
Assist with vacuum setup and operation.
Supervise rig operation on overnight shift(s).
Assist on installation/commissioning Calisto and other monitoring devices.
Qualifications Required
Must have 2 or more years of industry experience.
High School diploma or GED. Supplemental courses in electrical maintenance are desired.
Must possess a current and valid driver’s license, and be able to maintain a good driving record.
Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to pass a fit for duty exam.
Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
Able and willing to travel up to 80% as needed.
Preferred
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
NCCO Crane Certification
Some knowledge of the fundamentals and principles of mechanical.
Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions required in working in a power distribution facility.
Ability to learn to read and interpret electrical diagrams and prints.
Ability to learn to read and interpret a variety of power generation and distribution metering and recording devices.
Ability to learn the practices and procedures of the industry.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
