Part Time Custodian
Job Overview
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
Operate motorized cleaning equipment
Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Stop at risk behavior of others and self
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
Maintain clean work area
Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
Take direction and respond to supervision
Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
Fill in during staff shortage
Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
Use proper personal protective equipment
Present a professional appearance and conduct
Understand customer service and satisfaction
Understand reporting systems and the environment
Perform dichor duties
Perform repetitive tasks
Qualifications No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license may be required, and completion of all safety and task training certification is necessary. Forklift certification may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual a plus
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands described include frequent sitting and talking or listening. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Compensation $15.00–$16.00 per hour
Shift Wednesday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–10:00 AM
