Project Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment where you play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our ongoing projects.

Salary Range $70,000 - $85,000 per year

Responsibilities

Managing and overseeing all financial aspects of project accounting from inception to completion.

Utilizing Viewpoint software to manage project costs, budgets, and financial forecasting.

Processing and reviewing change orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with project budgets.

Using Timberline software to manage job cost reporting and project financial analysis.

Handling pay applications, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors.

Managing lien waivers, verifying all waivers are properly executed and filed.

Calculating the percentage of completion for each project, providing regular updates to the project team.

Preparing and maintaining the Work in Progress (WIP) schedule, providing accurate and timely financial data.

Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

Providing financial insight and advice to support decision‑making and risk management.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the Accounting + Finance industry.

Proficiency in using project accounting software such as Viewpoint and Timberline.

Extensive experience in managing change orders, pay applications, and lien waivers.

Strong understanding of the percentage of completion method and WIP reporting.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide accurate reports.

Strong communication skills, effectively communicating financial information to non‑financial team members.

Exceptional organizational skills, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

Proactive approach, identifying potential financial issues and providing effective solutions.
