Job Title: Construction Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage the Construction Inspection Department and projects. This role involves coordinating daily work activities between Inspection Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), project managers, and various stakeholders to ensure effective project time, cost management, documentation, communication, risk management, and quality assurance throughout all construction phases.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspections as needed.
Facilitate and conduct regularly scheduled construction meetings.
Coordinate and partner with contractors to schedule inspection activities and resolve field issues.
Manage a construction project’s technical and cost efforts, including leading the project team and coordinating work with various project entities to meet deadlines and budgets.
Coordinate and track multiple project activities and plan staffing requirements for projects to ensure adequate coverage.
Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for construction procedures and safe working conditions.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
10+ years of construction management experience on water/wastewater utilities projects.
5+ years of proven experience in staff management/oversight, including hiring, project staffing, evaluating performance, and managing employees.
Understanding of bidding, estimating, and risk management of utility projects in water/wastewater.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting water/wastewater project drawings and specifications.
Ability to multi-task and carry out projects with tight deadlines.
Ability to travel to job sites across Indiana (valid driver's license).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Professional Engineer Certification is highly desired.
Experience working on federally-funded infrastructure projects.
Experience using Procore.
Work Environment This role involves working both in the office and visiting various project sites. The inspection team consists of over 30 RPRs, 2 Construction Engineering Techs, and another Construction Manager. Projects are located throughout the state and may also include some in Kentucky. Standard construction hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, with some overtime required, potentially reaching up to 50 hours per week. A company vehicle is provided for travel to job sites, which may involve occasional overnight stays.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
