SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides comprehensive HR and administrative support to faculty and staff within Rowan‑Virtua’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. This part‑time, fully in‑office position (20‑25 hours per week) includes front desk coverage, HR process administration, compliance with university policies and employment regulations, and supporting initiatives that enhance employee engagement and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a resource for HR inquiries, maintain front desk presence, answer telephones, review and route inquiries to appropriate HR team members when needed.

Arrange meetings, notify appropriate parties, prepare agendas, reserve room space, and manage the HR conference room calendar.

Maintain employee files, assist with audits and retrieve requested documents as needed.

Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation programs, including completion of I‑9 verifications.

Coordinate recruitment activities for staff positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding.

Generate basic reports as needed.

Ensure adherence to Rowan’s compliance standards, including confidentiality and regulatory requirements.

Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and enhance organizational culture.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. (Applicants may substitute additional related experience for the degree on a year‑for‑year basis)

Minimum of 2 years of HR or administrative experience; higher education experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; experience with Banner or similar systems a plus.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Strong team and customer service orientation; ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems using judgment consistent with policies, procedures, regulations.

Ability to work proactively on an independent basis.

SALARY In compliance with The State of New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $28–$30.00 per hour, with placement within the range determined by candidate’s qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.
