Engine, originally built for Starling, now operates independently as a SaaS platform that modernises operations and delivers exceptional digital banking experiences to banks and financial institutions globally.

About the role Early hire on the North America Business Development team based in the New York metropolitan area. The role involves building and scaling our go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy, sourcing and closing revenue‑generating opportunities, and working closely with delivery, product, and compliance teams to shape Engine’s growth in a highly regulated market. Travel within the U.S. and some international travel is required.

What you’ll get to do

Develop and execute GTM strategies for North America.

Drive the entire sales cycle, including outbound lead generation.

Lead early‑stage conversations, run client workshops and demos, and qualify opportunities.

Contribute to marketing activities and conferences to increase brand awareness.

Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting and network partners to co‑create GTM strategies.

Support commercial and contractual conversations.

Collaborate with delivery and product engineering throughout the sales lifecycle.

Build and scale GTM and Business Development capability across North America and globally.

Requirements

3‑5+ years in a fast‑paced start‑up, top‑tier consulting, or equivalent.

Experience in business development, partnerships, or revenue‑focused roles.

Experience working in financial services (Fintech, banking, credit unions) is mandatory.

Good understanding of the US financial services ecosystem, including payments and lending, and the regulatory landscape.

Strong grasp of banking technology, including core banking, FinCrime, cards, payments, data and cloud infrastructure.

Interview process

Interview with a member of the NA BD team.

Session with Engine North America team members and a case study.

Final interview with Engine’s North American President.
