Orthopedic Specialist of SW FL. is seeking a dedicated and organized
DME Technician / Ortho Tech
to join our orthopedic team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with orthopedic equipment and casting procedures, and a strong understanding of VISCO supplementation. This is a physically demanding role that involves standing for long periods and occasional heavy lifting.

Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida’s state‑of‑the‑art, 60,000 square‑foot facility incorporates the latest in leading‑edge technology to provide optimal care for patients with bone, joint, muscle and spine problems. Our office includes a full Physical Therapy and Occupational/Hand Therapy division, which works in close coordination with our physicians to provide non‑operative, pre‑operative, post‑operative and preventive care.
Responsibilities
Fit, measure, and adjust Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patients according to physician instructions
Apply, adjust, and remove orthopedic devices, splints, and braces
Assist with orthopedic casting and splinting procedures
Inventory management in VISCO supplementation
Maintain and track inventory of DME supplies and orthopedic materials
Educate patients on the proper use and care of equipment
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
Maintain organized documentation and patient records related to DME usage and inventory
Coordinate with clinical staff and vendors for equipment procurement and repairs
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in DME fitting, orthopedic support, or casting preferred
Experience with orthopedic casting/splinting highly desirable
Familiarity with VISCO supplementation protocols preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ortho Tech or DME certification a plus
BLS certification (or ability to obtain) preferred
Schedule
Monday through Friday: Times may vary
Occasional extended hours as needed
