Maintenance Mechanic - Byron, IL

Primary Purpose of Position Perform installation, inspection, maintenance and repair work on mechanical equipment such as packing pumps, valves, pipe disconnecting/connecting, welding, and operating machine tools where close tolerances are not involved.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Assist higher‑classification mechanics by disassembling and assembling equipment, rolling and expanding tubes, repairing, and resealing valves.
Perform maintenance and repair work on buildings and equipment.
Minimum Education Required High School/GED.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma.
Pass pre‑employment testing.
Ability to work different shifts.
Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access.
And one of the following:
Associate’s degree in a technical field.
Two years of minimum related mechanical military experience.
Two years minimum experience as a journeyperson Pipefitter, Boilermaker or Millwright.
Two years minimum of equivalent journeyperson Pipefitter, Boilermaker or Millwright experience in industrial employment.
