The
Production Supervisor
is responsible for leading daily production operations within the poultry processing plant to ensure safety, quality, yield, and productivity goals are met. This role oversees hourly team members, coordinates with Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation, and ensures compliance with USDA, food safety, and company standards while meeting production schedules.
Essential Functions
Supervise and lead hourly production team members to meet daily production, quality, and yield targets
Ensure compliance with all food safety, USDA, OSHA, and company policies
Monitor line performance, labor utilization, and product flow to maximize efficiency
Address production issues in real time and implement corrective actions
Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime
Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure product specifications and food safety standards are met
Support sanitation and changeover activities to ensure timely startup and compliance
Train, coach, and develop team members; enforce attendance, safety, and performance standards
Complete production reports, labor tracking, and required documentation accurately and on time
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, throughput, and cost control
Job Qualifications and Requirements
1+ years leadership experience, preferably in a supervisory role in the poultry industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to multi-task and prioritize.
Must demonstrate successful supervisory skills, writing skills, creative & effective problem-solving skills, and basic knowledge of computers & related software.
Experience in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
Working in a cold/wet/damp environment.
Standing/walking 100% of the workday.
Lifting various weights as needed basis.
