Responsibilities Peraton has an opportunity for you to join our military intelligence program(s) of record to deliver, operate and sustain modernized, transformed data science/data analysis environments worldwide that enable speedy and precise decision making to warfighters.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate to determine, create, and populate high-quality data architectures, structures, and systems.

Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance.

Support the selection, upgrades, and implementation of backend database technologies, to include their configuration, utilization and optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.).

Support data content, volume, Extract, Transition, Load (ETL), and rhythm for queries and analysis to achieve desired outcomes.

OBI specifically:

Manage complex, long‑term projects involving design, development, and installation of new information systems.

Perform technical studies to ensure the design meets user requirements.

Conduct testing and promote the integration of new databases within the existing IT infrastructure.

Discover sources of redundancy and design solutions for efficient integration or consolidation.

Reduce costs of storage and maintenance by eliminating redundancy to improve the enterprise.

Create test plans and scenarios; execute and document database test activities.

Conduct operational readiness testing and transitional user support.

Produce technical data/report(s) outlining the performance characteristics of databases and data services.

Conduct assessments of trends and determine the impact of emerging technologies on the infrastructure.

Identify and leverage containerization capabilities (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

Identify and leverage infrastructure as code tools.

Manage data management system to ensure repeatability and automation.

Design, develop, test, and implement unstructured data management solutions, content extraction and tagging capabilities, data integration solutions, and complex data web services.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Data Engineering, with a minimum of 17 years of experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of work experience.

Experience in data engineering, including activities such as data processing, ETL, data warehousing, data systems design, development, testing, assessments, optimization/operational excellence, and solutioning.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.

Capability to prepare and present briefings to customer senior management to effectively communicate technical and complex data management issues and recommended solutions.

Ability to work collaboratively with users and stakeholders.

Capacity to adapt to changing situations to prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Data Engineering.

Experience working in the customer environment is preferred.

Security Clearance:

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a CI Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
