Role: Data Engineer Location: Columbus, OH / Jersey City, NJ Duration: Long Term Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
Work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources
Assist in data warehousing and database optimization
Write and optimize SQL queries for large datasets
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and backend teams
Support data integration, validation, and quality checks
Learn and apply big data and cloud data technologies
Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows
Required Skills
Strong understanding of SQL
Basic knowledge of Python (or Scala/Java)
Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipelines
Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts
Exposure to tools like Airflow, Spark, Hadoop (academic or project level is fine)
Familiarity with Git / GitHub
Strong problem-solving and learning mindset
Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)
Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks
Knowledge of data modeling and performance tuning
