Transportation Design Project Manager - Illinois-Based Opportunity
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced and motivated
Transportation Project Manager
to assist the Office Lead and contribute to transportation infrastructure projects across Illinois. This is a full‑time position offering the opportunity to work on high-impact transportation design projects for state and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of high‑quality highway and roadway design plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations and adherence to budget throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including both internal colleagues and external partners.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing project proposals and participating in client presentations.
Serve as the Engineer of Record, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and overseeing project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois
10+ years in civil/highway design for DOTs and municipalities, with strong knowledge of IDOT standards
Proven ability to manage multiple projects from pursuit to delivery
Skilled in project management, team coordination, and mentoring
Proficient in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, and OpenRoads within IDOT CADD environments
Familiar with national design guidelines including MUTCD, AASHTO, and US Access Board
Registered PE in the state of Illinois
Design experience using Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or Geopak
