Business Development Manager – Data Center / Cable Management
Velcro Companies is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business and specification adoption for next‑generation data center architectures, leveraging our hook and loop solutions.
Summary of Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will develop new business, drive product specifications into hyperscaler data center projects, and grow revenue through strategic engagement with key ecosystem partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive specification of Velcro products into hyperscaler data center projects and large enterprise deployments.
Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities with hyperscalers, integrators, OEMs, and distributors.
Develop account plans and growth strategies aligned to corporate revenue and margin objectives.
Leverage technical background to consult with engineers, architects, and procurement teams.
Act as a subject matter expert in data center infrastructure applications.
Support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and design discussions.
Negotiate commercial terms with customers and partners.
Collaborate with marketing and project management to align solutions with market needs.
Contribute to forecasts and annual sales projections for existing and new products and key clients.
Build and maintain partner relationships, optimizing technical specifications across the Velcro portfolio.
Use CRM to grow and maintain opportunity pipeline, quotations, contracts, and project information.
Support additional technical business development activities as assigned.
Additional (Non‑essential) Duties
Other duties may be assigned as required for the performance of the position.
Knowledge & Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
Minimum 5 years in business development, technical sales, or product specification in data centers, networking, or infrastructure markets.
Proven success working with hyperscalers and system integrators.
Ability to manage complex sales cycles.
Strong technical knowledge of data center systems.
Exceptional relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
Track record of success and adaptability in a consultative approach.
Strong problem‑solving skills and sound judgment.
Entrepreneurial and self‑driven attitude.
Experience with Salesforce.com preferred.
Ability to travel 50 % up to 70 % of time.
Location Candidate should reside in Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, or Northern Virginia.
