Member Consultant I – Pool (Interra Credit Union)
As a Member Consultant I, you will provide dedicated member service, facilitate day‑to‑day transactions, and educate members on a wide variety of products and services. You will also support branch staffing needs across several locations, learning the specifics of each branch during a 90‑day onboarding period.
Location & Schedule Member Consultant I’s are hired into our Consultant Pool and may float to different branch locations in the first 90 days. The schedule may vary due to branch staffing needs and includes work in:
Region One:
College Green, CR 17, Dunlap, Goshen, Ligonier, Middlebury, Millersburg, Shipshewana, Topeka
Region Two:
Bremen, Goshen, Nappanee, New Paris, Syracuse, Wakarusa
Roles & Responsibilities
Create a positive and memorable member experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in person, over the phone, or other channels.
Always maintain and secure money in the cash drawer according to Credit Union security and procedural guidelines; balance the cash drawer and daily transactions.
Receive and process a variety of member savings, checking, and credit transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, money orders, and traveler’s checks, in accordance with Credit Union procedures.
Identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate members on credit union products and services; refer complex problems to senior authority with resolution recommendations.
Provide support to other branches—including working weekends and/or extended hours—while maintaining knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (Reg CC, BSA, OFAC, Patriot Act, Reg E, Reg DD).
Comply with all company policies, applicable laws, and regulations, including the Credit Union Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Knowledge
1+ years customer service experience in banking, retail, or a related field.
Education & Credentials
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.

Self-starting, results‑oriented, and able to work in a team environment.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of analyzing credit and financial information.

Operate routine office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
Routine computer work for 6-8 hours per day when necessary.
Work extended hours or travel off site when required.
Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Perform job functions independently or with limited supervision.
Read and follow written and oral instructions.
Basic mathematical calculations and computer basics.
Speak clearly and deliver information in a logical sequence.
Deal calmly and professionally with diverse personalities at various levels.
Maintain composure under deadlines, extreme accuracy, and fast pace.
Handle multiple, simultaneous, changing priorities.
Exercise highest discretion on confidential matters.
